Why Zion, Why Utah, Why Now, Why with Me?
As a seeker and professional in the well-being field, I have thoughtfully designed this retreat to offer a balance of movement, relaxation, solitude, and meaningful connection—to self, to the earth, and to one another.
I visited Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks for the first time during a time in my life when I was experiencing great loss and also great freedom. I traveled alone, creating space for my own personal retreat. While I was there, I felt a strong and persistent calling: to share this experience and feeling of abundance with others.
On the final day and hike of my journey, looking down into Zion's canyon, I knew I would come back—and that when I did, I would bring a community with me. I am honored to share what I felt and experienced with you.
Transition from Winter to Spring
Held at the end of April, our retreat together provides something to look forward to during the dark and long months of winter. The retreat also offers a refreshing reset into spring’s season of growth and renewal. Even more magical, Zion comes alive this time of year with an abundance of wildflowers, reaching their peak bloom right during our stay!
Our Mornings
Each morning we'll wake up to the majestic beauty of Zion National Park's towering cliffs and bright blue sky to breakfast. As a supportive community, we'll practice yoga, meditate, hike on iconic trails, explore canyons, cheer each other on, breathe in fresh air, laugh, and enjoy the warmth of the sun.
Our Hikes in Zion and Bryce
The hikes will range from moderate to strenuous, with some having steep inclines that will get your heart pumping. You don't need to have hiking experience but having some level of physical fitness will help you on the steep climbs. We will all hike together - starting, staying, and ending together. We will be taking our time, snapping lots of pictures, drinking lots of water, and taking snack breaks. A packing list will be provided so that you have all the gear you need to enjoy moving your body.
Our Afternoons
Our adventures will commence by lunchtime leaving you the afternoon to relax by the pool, read, nap, explore Springdale's shopping, spas, wineries, or do more adventuring in the canyon on your own (or with new friends you will make).
Our Evenings
After dinner we can stargaze. Zion National Park is officially certified as an International Dark Sky Park. Reduced light pollution and natural darkness provide unparalleled stargazing opportunities from our home base and/or in the canyon.
The moon will be in it's waning phase. Each night we will watch the moon get smaller and the sky get darker. Progressing towards the new moon is an opportunity to release what holds us back so that we can bring forward the abundance that will
move us towards our life's purpose. If you are into the magic and spirituality of the night sky, THIS is the place to be.
Our Field Trip to Bryce Canyon National Park
We will venture out of Zion for a jaunt over to Bryce Canyon National Park for the day where we'll be mesmerized by the canyons rock formations and breathtaking beauty of this park. We'll take a trip over to a state park for lots of laughter and joy as we ATV and sand sled.
Motto of the Week: You Can Do Whatever You Want
There will be a day of unscheduled activities to rest and restore before more adventuring. Some use this day to relax by the pool and read, some go shopping, while others can't get enough and use this day to continue hiking and exploring on their own.
What about Las Vegas?
Well, Vegas is the nearest airport to our home for the week. Some arrive in Vegas a day early to take in the indulgence and hit up a show before heading north for retreat. Others arrive and head right into Utah taking in Valley of Fire State Park on the way. Either way, the arrival and departure out of Vegas can be what you want it to be.
If you've wanted to visit two of the most breathtaking national parks in the United States, this is your retreat. You get the gift of calling Zion your home for a week and spending an inspiring day in Bryce Canyon National Park.
I welcome you with warm and loving energy as we embark on an adventure of a lifetime together. See you on retreat!
May you be at ease,
Dawn
